Cold snap

February 13, 2014

This sub-freezing weather is far reaching. Think of it, those who went to Florida and left their homes empty and heating, often about 50 to 60 degrees, so their homes won’t freeze up....

I am not sure where you get your facts from but I don't believe a majority of Americans are demanding the president be impeached, if that was the case they had 5 years to do it, so if majority rules why is he still in office?

0futm2 - 8:42 PM "By what means does the Constitution make it possible for the House of Representatives to stop government?"

The Constitution gave the HOUSE control of the purse strings.

Unfortunately, RINO's like Boehner are not smart enough to take advantage of it.

Another thing the Constitution gave the HOUSE was the ability to IMPEACH the president. And again, people like Boehner are too cowardly to do it, even though the majority of U,S, citizens are demanding it.

From the article, "You’ll never guess the top political label in America": (h/t CPC)

As the public’s trust in government hits new lows, libertarian positions on major policy issues are reaching record support across the board. Polls show solid majorities of Americans agree with the libertarian perspective on:

foreign policy (let’s mind our own business), nation-building (unwise), warrant-less mass surveillance (illegal, immoral, and just plain creepy), domestic drone use (bad idea), the national debt (it’s a big problem), federal spending (waaaay too much), the Federal Reserve (audit it), health care (DC isn’t competent to handle it), government welfare (inefficient and not helping), the drug war (legalize marijuana), food choice (don’t mandate nutrition), marriage (let the couples decide), Congress (passes too many laws and the wrong kinds of laws), and our government in general (too big and burdensome).

---

Sounds like Rand Paul's positions. He's going to very popular!

Tea party representatives don't have common sense and don't implement anything while in government.

The Tea party sees liberals as the boogie man.

Then, liberals, like Sham, point to hurricane Sandy, as evidence of climate change." - eriklatranyi

enigma: "Jerry, Yes, I have looked at the data. What I don't do is just accept the interpretation."

Enigma, I'm glad we have someone with your scientific background to interpret the data from thousands of studies. Why trust 97% of scientist out there when we have our own scientist extraordinar right here in our own back yard. I hear the Nobel guys have you on a short list. Good luck.

"If you google "nasa global climate science" it brings you to a page that says "Consensus: 97% of climate scientists agree"." - JerryfromRI

Yea, it was 97% of scientists "who had an opinion". Those who offered no opinion were not counted. It kind of skews the outcome. The real figure, counting those who have no opinion, is in the 65% range. We went over this a few months back.

Except for the fool driving through the parking lot who doesn't know pedestrians have the right away-Mikekerstetter

I had to comment on this--It is simply amazing how self centered some people can be. Think about it, One is out in the weather, snow, rain, cold, etc., & the other is sitting in the comfort of their vehicle. It is pitiful that some would not have the patience(let alone good manners, & the law), to yield so the other can get out of the bad weather. It is a pet peeve of mine. Be safe, & warm!!-Scott

"Doesn't it bother you that every computer model for global warming has been wrong?"

--

In 10-15 years this will be a mute point as either (A) the global warming will be obvious to all and indisputable or (B) 97% of the global warming scientist will have proven wrong and discredited.

Enigma, I WANT you to be right. Since there is an apparent lack of political will to take action to correct this problem (if the 97% are right) then we all better hope you are right.

And if you are wrong then I guess we'll all just fudged.

Since, in my lifetime, the right wing championed the science behind cigarette smoking as harmful as unproven, and most recently that the polls were indeed skewed by liberal pollsters, I guess its track record with regards "getting it right" leaves room for improvement.
