First of all this is America. The pipeline has only to do with making money for big oil! Our prices will not go down, not in any helpful way. Your a fool if you believe they will. Second, all there doing by legalizing MJ is making it taxable and taking the power from the cartels. Just like in prohibition people will use weather it's legal or not might as well get some tax revenue for it.

Scott36, funny thing T. Boone Pickens does make more money from water than he did with oil.

Google T. Boone Pickens and the Ogallala Aquifer.

So your post was 100% correct and you didn't know it, surprise!!!

BornHere,

Actually I was trying to make the point that if that aquifer is polluted, people may be at the mercy of having to purchase water. Sorry if I in some way mislead.-Hope you had a nice day-Scott

Ofutm2,

Please enlighten me, in regards to the overall gain that this country would get out of this pipeline. The potential of pollution to the Ogallala Aquifer, by itself is a very compelling reason for EXTREME caution. All life needs water.-Scott

The matter isn't who wants it approved it's who doesn't. That would be Obama's good buddy and supporter Warren Buffett.

Really you believe the State Department regarding anthing? And how is it going to hold gasoline prices down...think about it the pipeline is needed to send the oil out of the country...at the highest price the market will allow...will not benefit us at all.

Legalization is coming, the revenues are too great for states to ignore it and if it was placed on a ballot it would get overwhelming support. Enough money has been wasted trying to control this weed that is less harmful than alcohol IMO.

You would think that the SG would enthusiastically support the use of Pot, plus free pizza--That is when trying to "sell" the Keystone pipeline. Keystone pipeline right thru the Ogallala Aquifer--Why sell oil, when you can sell water???-Scott

Editor: cehck yourself before you wreck yourself! LOL "Nebraska Court Ruling Voids Approval For Keystone XL Pipeline" Got to npr dot org and check out this story. The pipeline cannot proceed without NE. This has nothing to do with "Obama." The pipeline is going no where because the people are waking up, they don't want their country ruined by the wealthy 1%! "Drug dealers" (the uneducated name for them) you say? These are NOT drug dealers they are dispensaries. They are legal businesses who sell a legal product. Only those who are truly under-educated would call legal, tax paying and legitimate merchants "drug dealers." LOL It would behoove the editor to have a grandchild or beloved relative with severe seizures, so he then would experience the pain and horrors these people (children included) go through.

The chief purpose of the pipeline is to help Canada increase it's own revenue by opening up new, overseas markets for tar sands oil. Not to decrease American gas prices.

"The pipeline is being built through America, but not for Americans".

"Recently, just weeks after the state of Colorado legalized marijuana, the Obama administration announced plans to help banks deal legally with marijuana sellers.

Normally, such transactions would be illegal. But the White House, acting quickly to ensure newly well-to-do marijuana dealers can bank like the rest of us, has expedited what amounts to an exemption from the law."

Big difference!! Average/local-taxpayers will benefit (from this), thru the tax-dollars (generated)...as-opposed-to Keystone, that'll only benefit the refinerie$ that process that sludge (and, more-than-likely pay very-few tax-dollars, as it is).
