Agreed. When she goes full-blown spastic...she would be more-believable, if she was pushing-around a grocery-cart full o' aluminum-cans.

Feds high-jacked states along time ago and people are just now complaining? The Feds rely on that Union money to get what they want (sports car, European vacations, MORE MONEY TO WASTE). When local control is completely gone, look out

"Oh, and, did you know that Pa. is doing their own version of Common Core?" Not exactly their own, just written differently than the U.S. Dept of Ed. Because Pa. waived on NCLB "rules" for their State Standards accountability performance rating this year, the Pa. Dept of Ed has to adopt "career ready" standards, (otherwise, NO FEDERAL DOLLARS). So, Pa. in its move away from the PSSA's to the Keystones decided to save time and money by aligning Federal standards within their "new ones."

"Oh, and, did you know" along with the Keystones comes a better checks and balance system for teacher accountability? The balancing act weights heavier on the educator this time around. The new evaluation system will put pressure on the educator to get the passing grades from their students. If corrective action doesn't work, guess who doesn't?

BTW-NCLB was an "invasion" by the Feds, which led to state standardized testing to begin with. Fed

Do not take control of our schools away and give that control to faceless bureaucrats in Washington DC!

Malkin needs to change her delivery. She uses too many big words. Doesn't she know that liberals and uninformed voters are stupid and can't understand her.

I'm thinking the faith-based/fundamentalist "educational"-facilities have a monopoly on that....

Nobody - could you stop with the plane post? Common core may be an improvement for under-performing schools. Not so for schools with better achievement results. i think this is where the real problem lies. It doesn't have jack to do with government control beyond trying to improve low end schools. Everything is not a subversive plot. Second. There are SOME great teachers however, the brightest kids in the class do not usually become school teachers.

Common Core was designed to turn the next generation of kids into idiotic sheep who cannot think for themselves and will be totally dependent on the government. Do you own research on the subject.

Now, tell me. Exactly, what is wrong with common core?.........radioactive

The Common Core Standards currently only have skills associated with English-Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. There are currently no science or social studies

The Common Core Standards will costs schools money to update the technology needed for the Common Core Standards Assessments. Most of the assessments will be online.

The Common Core Standards will lead many current textbooks to be obsolete.

The Common Core Standards could be watered down compared to a few states who have previously adopted difficult standards.

The Common Core Standards will likely cause many outstanding teachers and administrators to pursue other career options.

The Common Core Standards are vague and broad.

The Common Core Standards will be a tremendously difficult adjustment for students and teachers

Why, is it, that Common Core's critics always seem to be the LEAST-educated individuals????

The problem with Common Core is easy.....it is more central gov't, progressive intervention in education that takes the decisions away from the local level and centralizes those decisions with Washington DC.

PAY ATTENTION please to something OUTSIDE OF OUR LITTLE RIVE VALLEY:

That Malaysian plane made a 90 degree left turn over the ocean. Computers don't make that "mistake", humans do. Thus, whatever the end of the story is, somebody in that cockpit made a left turn.

Therefore, human intervention at the minimum

You're right Marlin D. Lilley Jr.: Essentially, that's exactly what it is: Commie or at least Socialist core.

No Doubt about it, IMO.
