After reading the article in the newspaper about the woman who was arrested for not getting her daughter the proper care that she needed should not be allowed to get away with this....

The animal rights and claim not to abuse animals, incidentally is not limited to liberals. Most people would not intentionally abuse an animal and to use that as a white flag in this discussion, isn't a strong point. Personal responsibility is an all but gone by the wayside phenomena. I've stated this before and it bears repeating...many (not all) animal lovers/rights activists also believe in abortion. Go figure.

Lauri,

It is unfortunate that you must take the rap for your colleagues. It's like myself as a Christian being blamed for the Crusades or the West Boro Baptist Church folks. The truth is both sides must share the blame for the bad of the tag. Liberals (across the board, not individually) believe everyone is a victim, people live off the state, and yes...the morals of a liberal have a lower standard than that of their counterpart, conservatives. That's not to say all liberals do, but please...it isn't conservatives sanctioning same sex marriage, which is a biggie and it is getting worse. Tomorrow, marriage to more than one person, b e a s t I l I t y, and who knows what else. NAMBA is growing stronger, living together without marriage, period, all get a heads up with most liberals.

It's a sad time we live in these days but as it's always been, you don't legally have to be a good person to have children. This was a prime example of that.

I was talking about the attitude of if it feels good, do it.-Capricorn1

It is true that words, & phrases can be taken out of context. For whatever it is worth,(I am probably setting myself up)the sentence highlighted always reminds me of the word "Hippie". Now, excuse me while I take cover!!!-Scott

Lauri, I wasn't chuckling about the content of the letter. It was because you and a couple others thought I was referring to liberals in a political sense, which I definitely wasn't. I was talking about the attitude of if it feels good, do it. Although the word can be used in the context that I did, it was probably a poor choice on these boards since most everything turns political. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Capricorn1,glad you cleared that up, still its not LOL funny. Now if I said all Marines come back and abuse their wives and kids and kick the family dog would that be LOL funny? No and I am not so ignorant as to throw those words around.

LOL Relax folks, there are ways to use the word liberal other than political, such as not opposed to ways of behaving that are not traditional or widely accepted, which is straight out of the dictionary. I was responding to Nobuds comment regarding society and reality TV. I was not insinuating that liberals in a political sense beat their kids or harm animals. LoL

Lauri, we’re on the same page here. Abuse or neglect of kids and pets has nothing to do with politics.

Capricorn1, I guess I probably should of also defended my love of animals also, just to let you know how much I abuse our family dog "Lady", right this moment as I am writing this she is banished to the bedroom, where she sprawls out across our bed and falls asleep, there will be no dog food for her this evening she will have to deal with a cheeseburger, I hope she can choke it down. In about an hour when my youngest gets home the real torture will begin, Lady will be forced to go outside and play "get the stick" and have to chase a few screaming neighborhood kids. I could go on and on but I am sure the sheer sound of her abuse is to much for many of you to handle so I will leave it at that.

Nobud, this is just the result of an ever increasing liberal society that has the mindset, if it feels good, do it"-Capricorn1

Excuse me, but I constantly hear from the Con/TP crowd that they want Gov. out of their lives. SO, IYO, are not these people allowed to live as they please without Gov. in their lives??-Scott

Cap-Would you mind expanding on that? I think this type of behavior is intolerable. Cruelty to any living being is wrong.

One thing I can't comprehend is not taking the girl to the hospital after the doctor told the mom to do that.

Capricorn1, I take offense to you refering that being liberal in ones political views, somehow means that I would somehow condone the abuse of children and animals. You have struck a nerve in me yet again. I am a mother of 2 daughters and never in my life would I ever harm or deprive my daughters of medical care or anything else for that matter. I don't know why I am defending myself to you but that was a real "jerk" thing to say. Have a good day and try to take the rest of the day off from posting anymore dumb comments.

CitizenX, how about it! The loons are multiplying. Almost zombie like. Seriously, though, the days of a community supported standard of behavior are gone. We are slowly becoming more and more like a "reality" TV show where bad behavior and poor decisions are the norm, expected and in some cases rewarded.
