rick424: The point I was trying to make was,if you pressure these gas companies, people (land owners) might loose everything. This is going on all over not just with the gas industry. I would be happy getting anything that I wasn't getting before but,that just me and I wouldn't have to "punch" a clock.

Mercury. The reason for this is the gas companies were ripping off the lease holders. That is why government has to fix this. Also politians should have know about this technogy in 1979. Just like the flood bill, they don't do their homework.

I understand there is a "law" but, my question is if the gas companies never came here people wouldn't be getting a dime. I hope 'greed' doesn't stop these companies from stop drilling and moving on to other areas of the country that also have natural gas reserves. If I was getting money for use of my land I would be happy knowing I'm getting "FREE" money no matter what the amount and not even breaking a sweat, just go to the mailbox!
