I am a Certified Dental Assistant and I can not stress enough how important it is to have dental checkups every 6 months or atleast yearly. If you notice any change in your mouths "anatomy" so to speak, bumps or sores that just don't go away or get better, go to the dentist or doctor do not put it off. This past week we had a similar situation happen at our office. I was present when a man was told that he may have a type of jaw cancer, it was heart wrenching to be there at that moment in his life, everything could change for the worse in a second. So please do your family a favor and be proactive get a checkup.
