April 27, 2014

It is very sad to read stories about people hurting others. Where does all this come from and what is the answer for our world today? The answer is the same as it has always been – Jesus....

The whole thing sounds like a setup. A rigged game, if you will. We are created evil by an all-knowing Creator, who then kills his only begotten son in order to "save" us from inherited sins. What kind of Creator would do that?

Why would an all-knowing, all-good entity start off creating sinful beings then punish them for being exactly what they were created to be - sinners? It's a whole setup.

The God that I have come to know and love wouldn't do such a thing...

Read Genesis--Sons of God mated with humans and God destroyed these relatives of HIS by the Flood. Are you implying that Adam's genes over ruled the genes of the Sons of God and made HIS relatives evil?

Human nature allows for a wide range of behavior, but ultimately each individual’s behavior is governed by the choices he or she makes.

"We are all born with a sinful nature because sin is passed down through fathers and we are all related to the first father Adam. God was the Father of Jesus and that is why he did not have the sin nature passed down to him although he was tempted in every way we are."

This paragraph almost seems to imply that Jesus was born from the Father. To be clear, Jesus has coexisted with the Father (and the Holy Spirit) eternally and they are coequal in nature and substance, divine. Jesus submitted himself to be obedient to the Father, as a relationship of a father telling a son what to do. Jesus has existed sinless and perfect forever, even when presented with the temptations of mankind when he also became fully man.

He was the perfect, sinless sacrifice for me and you. Put your faith and trust in him.
