Ridiculous decision

Mayor Campana’s decision to have the basketball rims removed at Memorial Park because of debris surrounding the courts was ridiculous. That’s why we have a Parks & Recreation department....

If the cans are not being properly maintained and trash is blowing from cans I agree there are other issues, however can we not just take our trash along with us if this is the case. They should also have a phone number either given out/posted for service call ***-****

Mr Ulmer, so do you leave your trash for others to pick-up or do you throw it in the trash can?


For dozens of years, my children were involved in various outdoor activities including camping with Boy Scouts, playing soccer, tee ball, baseball, etc. People cleaned up after them selves and didn't leave trash out on the grounds. The only times I recall trash outside the can was after a weekend tournament or similar and a 55-gal drum would be stacked to the brim and would have trash outside leaning against the base of the drum.


I can see the next mayoral election when one of the candidates says vote for me "I will reinstall the basketball goals, encourage people to throw trash on the ground, hire additional P&R personnel as a job stimulation measure to pick it up, and raise taxes to pay for it."
