Roger, wood burning is, and has been essential to the evolution of man. Where would we be if fire weren't discovered? I'd like to see evidence where banning wood fires would improve our health. I know of millions of cases where wood burning actually SAVED lives. You can't say the same for banning them.

Joshy, I do live in the city and with just a modicum of research you would know that I am more than correct on this.

If you believe that burning wood in any capacity is a pollutant then,in my opinion, you should move to a city.

Not only should campfires within borough limits be banned, but burning wood in general should be banned. Whether it's a campfire, woodburning furnace or owb, wood smoke is a serious pollutant and no one should have to breathe it. There is no such thing as clean burning wood and the sooner it is banned, the better for everyone.

If a gas grill was on fire as Councilman Dart stated, then it was a poorly maintained or improperly cleaned GAS GRILL ... NOT a campfire! By saying he thought it was a couch on fire tells me he has a gift for exaggeration. But again, IT WAS NOT A CAMPFIRE! If there are a few people (Dart claims to know of at least three) who have huge fires or burn trash in the campfires, then fine those few people and let the others live freely without your busybody interference.
