Just want to say Happy Memorial Day but, let's just not treat it as a "day off" but, veterans can remember men and women that didn't survive, friends I know are still in my memory! "Wecome Home" to all veterans, alive and the ones who gave the full sacrifice for their country! "PEACE"!Enjoy your day off but, REMEMBER.

gavinf56: Thanks for a "detailed" version on all those bills but, again you missed the point of my comment.First,Yes I did say the 'far-right' wackos but, because a Congressman is a democrat doesn't mean every democrat is on the 'left',liberal or what ever you want to call it,that's why they 'VOTE' on bills. Second point, the conversation was what President Obama stated back in 2007, "Obama Campaign announces National Veterans Advisory Committee". The reason for the LIST of bills I commented with is maybe, just maybe why the President couldn't get things through Congress to HELP veterans,it sure didn't help is all I'm saying!! After 2010 things ready 'fell apart'! Again, 'Why does the President want to hurt veterans"?

"Unfortunately he doesn't understand it. I recalled when Gavin took a test and valued loyalty highly." - CMReeder

Loyalty is not obedience (especially blind obedience like that of hero worship).

Sorry, I can't read DKOS, I have no interest in participating in the dumbing down of the American electorate.

"Tu quoque"

Gavin learned a new phrase.

Unfortunately he doesn't understand it. I recalled when Gavin took a test and valued loyalty highly. Of course when he sees loyalty in his political opponents then it is 'hero worship'.

Gavin did not give an argument he gave a dismissive critiques of his political opponents. He calls them hero worshippers.

Scott, once again you presume you know me. What does being independent have to do with if I disagree with an issue that happens to involve the left side of the aisle, then automatically I can't be an independent.-Capricorn1

When have I claimed to know you?? I have merely pointed out a few of my observations. It just makes me chuckle when you try to pass yourself off as an "independent" when it is so glaringly clear that on a vast majority of your views, you are obviously to the far right. You are free to declare yourself anything you want, I just find some humor in it. Kinda like "rush" declaring everyone who sees things differently than himself to be to the "far left" in an attempt to make himself look as if he is "mainstream" America. lol!! Have a Great, Safe,& Happy Memorial Day!!! Thanks to you, & all who have/are serving!!-Scott

Premier:post 5/24-4:30pm--No you don't have to be a vet to comment, where you got that from I don't know? Since I ask questions that according to you,I don't know the answer, that is why they call them questions! I have a question for you because I don't know the answer is,"Why would VA want to hurt veterans instead of helping them?" Is it really the VA dept.itself or just certain individuals working for the VA that has caused these problems that have occurred and now have been caught? You own a dept. store and one employee is stealing from you but, you fire everyone who works for you!

gavinf56: post-5/24--4:46pm- First answer me this,"why does the President want to hurt veterans"? Now,you throw in about the Nov.12,2007 Advisory committee but, you failed to mention after President Obama WON the presidency that Congress 'right-wingers' voted against bills that would help veterans. Here's a few,H.R.466,1168,1171,1172,1293,1803 and 2352? These are just a few but, the point is,how can you get anything done when just about everything gets turn down by your 'wacko' friends in Congress?? Again, You have a 'headline' but, no story!

Scott, once again you presume you know me. What does being independent have to do with if I disagree with an issue that happens to involve the left side of the aisle, then automatically I can't be an independent. I will admit, I am in no way a liberal and I align myself to their thinking on very few issues. But I get tired of liberals CONSTANTLY making excuses for obvious mistakes by this administration. Deniability runs rampant. You're right, he is the Commander in Chief and the buck stops with him. Especially when he KNEW of these issues and vowed to fix them. And to continue to support his Secretary is ludicrous. When is anyone gonna take responsibility like a true leader does??? Have a Happy Memorial Day weekend and a thank you to all that have served and are serving.

After reading most of the comments on this VA issuse and comments on Benghazi,IRS,FEMA,NSA and the list goes on blaming President Obama on ANYTHING the "FAR Right" can put out it's clear to me this Country is on the road to destroying itself! You can only "throw the rock" at the window so many times that it will eventually break! To take down ONE man, they,'the Far-Right'will destroy a Country and it's people and the funny part is the people include the 'Far-Right'! Keep on 'throwing that rock'and you don't have to disagree or agree, you just have to wait! Yea, I didn't get pickles on my burger,it's got to be Obama's fault! Childish, you bet, welcome to the world of "Obama haters'! The VA issuse isn't a funny matter but, 'the Far-Right' is making a circus out of it instead of trying to help fix it. By just saying,it's "Obama fault" ain't going to fix it.

A fairly harsh assessment to be spouting publicly-Good example of 1st. Amendment Rights, IMO, "gutsy" assessment while keeping the 9th. Commandment in mind. JMO,-Scott

Your charge, but I'll go first. One of my complaints about the Obama Administration is that the previous admin. was not put on trial for war crimes. Clinton did not stay committed to his marriage,(IMO-sinful not illegal).

Now your turn--How about "W"?? That Conservative "idol" Ronnie??

Scott, what does it matter if it dates back to WWII?-Capricorn1

Well, to me it does matter that it is an issue at all. Too many family members/friends/American hero's involved. My point was that in your usual zeal to appear "independent", you make one statement, & in the next breath try to place a "surgically placed" shot at our current Commander in Chief. JMO, but if you stand on a certain side of an issue, any issue, defend it. Trying to straddle a fence usually ends up being quite painful. Have a Great Memorial Day!!!-Scott

Obama could have admitted that he dropped the ball on this one and held General Shinseki accountable. Instead, he puts the guy who should be held accountable in charge of the "investigation."

Even with no more elections to win, Obama will not admit failure and his hack supporters fall in line with their typical invalid excuses.

++

Since President Obama knew of the problem years ago and went to great pains to say that he would fix it but he didn't then yes he gets full blame. He failed. He lied. He is a hypocrite. He is dishonorable. He was using the issue for his own personal and political gain; he wasn't interested in really taking care of the problem or the veterans. Give him a tee shirt and paint a big "F" on it for fail.

Chuck, the majority of BOTH sides are calling for his resignation. Are you seriously saying that even though there have been dozens of deaths due to neglect and lack of care and these practices were covered up, and this Secretary knew of these practices since he took office and did nothing that he shouldn't be fired? What exactly would he have to do or not do for you to feel firing him is justified? To me this is a no brainer and Obama is hurting himself and his party by standing beside him and "acting" outraged and like he is oblivious to these practices. His best course of action would be to admit they were made aware when he took office and he instructed his Secretary to fix it and now that this has occurred it's time for the Secretary to go. THAT'S being a leader.
