I noticed that you neglected to touch on Bin Laden though. -Scott

First, no my mother does not listen to Rush or any of those other knuckleheads and most times she votes democrat. I only know her radio is tuned to an a.m. station because I sometimes take her car for a wash or fill-up. Regarding Bin Laden, I find it sad that so much praise is given to Obama for his death and little is given to the men and women who actually tracked him down and brought about his demise. But I guess if you have so little to praise him for, you have to find something as small as saying the word "go" to his military advisors who basically told him how to respond. O.k. I'll hive him an atta boy and a pat on the back. Oh and Maddow is no threat to me at all but I find it amusing that you consider her a threat to conservatives yet you don't see it the other way around regarding conservative talk show hosts. Personally I think thy are ALL a bunch of blowhards that do nothing but try and divide us.

Boobs your facination with the "mothership" as you call it, is very strange, but then again so is having 5 different names. Again you sound so foolish.

Also, I'm not sure what your fascination is with A.M. radio but your constant reference to it makes it seem like that's the only come back you have.-Capricorn1

I thought your mother listened to drug-boy. Guess you stick cotton in your ears when it is on. I have not a fascination with AM Radio, other than to point out how many, many Con/tp persons who claim not to listen, have exactly the same opinions--just kind of Amazes me! FWIW, I have not turned on MSNBC in a couple of years(not that you will believe that, nor would I care) I have found in interesting that the "right" is so fascinated(intimidated?) with Maddow. Could it be that she is too often "dangerous" to Con/TP beliefs/claims? Too close to the mark? You are correct, the current terrorist was not hard to "get", I noticed that you neglected to touch on Bin Laden though. Or the fact that they ARE brought to justice under our current CIC. Have a Great day!!-Scott

Scott, it didn't take much "tracking" to get Major Hasan nor Khatallah. One was shot by an MP at the scene of the crime and the other was hiding in plain site and giving interviews. Also, I'm not sure what your fascination is with A.M. radio but your constant reference to it makes it seem like that's the only come back you have. Like I've stated many times, I'm a Sirius subscriber for years and always tuned to either Howard or classic rock. I guess I could do the same and say everything you state has to come from Rachel Maddow. But I give you credit for your own opinions.

Scott, this is not the first time that this administration has attempted to downplay obvious terrorist attacks on Americans.-Capricorn1

One more. Your & the Radios opinion. Well one thing cannot be changed though--under Obama, these enemies of the United States of America are tracked down, & dealt with--not forgotten, "not thought 'bout" after a couple of months(as W admitted/claimed). A penny for your thoughts, after Bin Laden was captured some on the "right" claimed it was really "W" who was responsible for bringing him to justice(even though he previously claimed to "not think 'bout him much anymore") Did "W" come out of retirement to get this one too? Oh, & BTW, your "LOL" in a prior post did not affect me as you seem to think, your reference to it did however amuse me-Thanks! For some reason I seem to have struck a nerve with you--Sorry. Have a Great Sabbath!!-Scott

Scott, this is not the first time that this administration has attempted to downplay obvious terrorist attacks on Americans. The Fort Hood attack is STILL classified as workplace violence even though there has already been a trial and conviction and there was a huge amount of evidence proving that he was connected to terrorism and his intent was to kill as many soldiers as possible that were getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan.

Scott, he may have very well said that. But I'm also sure he has been following all the news this past year and what better way to incite more infighting than to make that particular statement? The Obama Administration, the State Department and the Intelligence agencies all eventually concluded that this was a premeditated attack to be carried out on 9/11. Don't you think that if his statement held any value that the administration, democrats and the media would be all over it? Yet the only source I know that reported it was the NY Times.

Capricorn1,

Decide what? I was referring to a specific comment he made. You referred to the fact that he made others. To you, a defense, to me a deflection/scampering away from the topic at hand. Is this your "proof" that he did not make the comment he made? You cannot wish it/ignore it away. That is the real world. Have a Great day!-Scott

Lauri, Thank you for the very kind thoughts! You have also given me "food for thought"(I'm gonna need a diet!) This line made me laugh, I must admit, I have never before given up on a "job"!! One consideration you have brought to light in my mind is--When I see someone being bullied/ganged up on by a mob of "bullies"(esp. of the AM radio variety)I have a hard time keeping my thoughts to myself.(you,& a few others fall into this category)Call it a weakness!?? I don't know what my opinions are worth, some have not so eloquently informed me of their personal "thoughts"(plural for some)-might sting IF I valued their opinion, but You humble me with yours. I have to admit though, the way I was raised goes against letting people be bullied--Kind of hard to walk away from. You are one of my favorite posters, Let em have it!! This is the post Scott is referring to. You decide.

Yet you are going to be super critical of statements reported straight out of the "masterminds" mouth, because you do not want it to be so. -Scott

LoL Scott, did you bother to read any of the interviews this "mastermind" gave? He gave several of them even after there were charges against him and he was "hiding" in plain site. In one interview he stated he was there but he was merely "directing traffic" in all the commotion. In another interview he said that the U.S was firing shots into the crowd and that's what started the "riot".

The response given to me was--LOL He said a lot of things(not verbatim). True, but he also said what he said, & no amount of wishing will change that. -Scott

You actually got upset because I put LOL? Really? Perhaps you need to look back through your comments at the number of times you have replied to me with LOL.. MANY times. And I thought nothing of it. The rest of my comment had nothing but facts taken from online sources that covered the interviews you were citing. You seemed to conclude that the attack HAD to be a result of the video because that is what the terrorist stated in one of the many interviews he gave and I simply enlightened you that this same man gave many more lies in other interviews he gave. He lied so much he couldn't keep his story straight. Sorry if I offended you by posting LOL. I think you would have a hard time showing me how I have been nothing but respectful to everyone on here 99% of the time.

I really hope you change your mind and continue to post, you can't let some of these "blow hards" get to you. Just remember this little LTE site does not truly reflect the feelings of many in the big world outside of central PA. I have lost a friend on here and I will miss you. Bornhere, Thank you also for some very kind words, I also have always enjoyed discussion with you--I could always expect, & received intelligent, respectful, civil, & informative posts from you, it is refreshing to have people such as yourself on here. FWIW, The "verbal abuse" I can easily contend with, IMHO, it is a sign of weakness in an argument.(good natured jesting, satire can be fun,& keep things interesting) What I find the hardest to deal with is the "willful" disregard for facts, & events that may be uncomfortable to one's point of view. E.g.-I mentioned to one poster that the captured "mastermind" of Benghazi, reportedly said that the online video moved him to seek revenge. The response given to me was--LOL He said a lot of things(not verbatim). True, but he also said what he said, & no amount of wishing will change that. This is but one small example. Not sure what the future holds, but I felt compelled to answer your po

Americium, Thank you for the kind words. You certainly have given me food for thought. My decision was not an easy one. This area has so very much to be proud of, & I feel you are correct about some trying to return to the "Dark Ages"--As good a description as any. I do however dislike "giving up", for lack of a better way of putting it--My Father would ask if I'm getting soft-LOL! Again, thank you for the thoughtful post, & an opinion for me to mull over. Have a Super Great Sunday!!-Scott

Scott36 - Please don’t go.

The posters who you appropriately noted are “an embarrassment to the entire region” serve the legitimate purpose of demonstrating why this country needs to improve and strengthen its educational system. The anti-science folks who roam this site should not be left unchallenged to foul the forum with their unfounded claims, illogical arguments, and pervasive paranoia.

Their common thread appears to be that science is a liberal aberration that is attempting to manipulate the world for some dastardly purpose (lattes and vege sandwiches?). Their opinions aren’t likely to change in the face of something so flimsy as facts, but their annoying, groundless, whining and spouting false claims, half truths, and misunderstandings should not be allowed to stand and usher in a 21st century version of the Dark Ages.

Scott36 - Your’s appears to be a reasonable voice; I hope you don’t go silent.
