Harold S. Livermore, 77, formerly of Fox Hollow Rd., died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the Williamsport Home where he has been a resident for the past two years.
His wife, the former Mary Lou Rimert, died on April 12, 2006. Harold was a 50 year member of St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church, serving as chairman of the Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee for several years as well as serving on other various church committees including the Administrative Board. Harold was a member of UAW Local 787 and farmed the family homestead where he was born. He also enjoyed hunting with his neighbors and family. He retired from the former Avco Lycoming in 1990 after 41 years of service. Born November 4, 1930 in Williamsport, he was the son of Dewey E. and Helen M. Sholder Livermore. Surviving are sons, the Rev. Steven M. (Susan) of York and David S. of Williamsport; daughter, Linda L. (Michael) Springman of Watsontown; sister, Florence E. Williamson of Williamsport; sister-in-law, Lorraine Bower of Williamsport; granddaughters, Megan and Laura Springman, Emily, Patience and Elizabeth Livermore. Harold was predeceased by a sister, Lois E. Brooks. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, 2101 Newberry St., with the Rev. Kraig L. Faust officiating. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave. Burial will be at Blooming Grove Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions be made to St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2101 Newberry St., Williamsport, PA 17701. |
