A fashion show presented by Amber Rose Bridal and Formal, 932 Plaza Drive, Montoursville, showed off some of the new styles in wedding gowns, and bridesmaid and flower girl dresses.
Introducing color in bride’s gowns is a big change, and embellishments like beads, pearls and crystals sparkled and shined down the runway.
Tom Ryersbach of Levinson’s Tuxedos and Tailoring, who attended both expos, shared that a majority of the menswear still is traditional, but some stylish changes are being seen with various colors offered and what ties and shoes are put with the ensemble.
“Over 90 percent of them are black, but there is a huge selection of colored vest and ties,” he said. “The brown tuxedo has become more and more popular and the Alfresco (for outdoor weddings) is very popular, too.”
Athena Berkheiser of Tuxes-n-Tunes, Mifflinburg and Watsontown, said that she sees more traditional styles these days.
Berkheiser said she is the only disc jockey and wedding shop in the greater Susquehanna Valley. She has been providing music for 22 years and is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants.
“The hot colors this year are brown and pink,” she said. “For guys, the stripe tuxedos are a big hit.”
