Fast becoming the area’s most popular dance band, Prince Charles and the Royaltones play a mix of late ’60s and early ’70s rhythm and blues, disco and rock and roll. Their list includes tunes by Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, The Grass Roots and many more.
The band features Larry Borgess, the original Prince Charles, on lead vocals; Dean Frear, originator of Prince Charles and the Royaltones in 1967; on keyboards and background vocals; Mary Baker and Kathleen Radspinner on female lead and background vocals respectively. Bill Matlack Jr. is on drums with Dick Adams on guitar and Bruce Bozyk on bass. Horn players are Bruce Anderson on trombone, Adam Wright on saxophone, Phil Marchioni on trumpet (original trumpeter for “Prince Charles”) and Jessica Lewis, also on trumpet.
