Young man suffers severe injuries from apparent attack
An unidentified man has been hospitalized with severe injuries; he suffered an apparent assault, which occurred in the 700 block of West Fourth St. early this morning, city police said.
The victim, believed to be in his 20s was found in the Annunciation Church parish center, parking lot about 2 a.m., police said.
He was rushed to Williamsport Hospital and has since been transferred Geisinger medical center, Danville.
"We've not been able to identify him," Capt. Raymond O. Kontz, III said, terming the matter "A serious situation.”
"He suffered no gun shot or stab wounds, we don't know how his injuries were inflicted,” Kontz said.
Investigators have not been able to question the victim.
Kontz said the victim "suffered blunt force trauma injuries."
