ROULETTE - Two residents are dead as the result of a murder-suicide, the Potter County district attorney said.
Cheri K. Baker, 29 and Matthew D. Baker, 32, both of this village, died Sunday, state police said.
Trooper Mary Gausman said the couple was married but currently estranged.
On Sunday, according to police, Cheri Baker went to Matthew Baker's residence at 14 Fourth St. to discuss custody arrangements for their 2-year-old son.
While she was there, she was shot in the head by her husband with a .22 caliber rifle.
Matthew Baker then set the home on fire and turned the gun on himself, police said. The fire caused minor damage, police said.
The Bakers were pronounced dead at the scene by Potter County Coroner Kevin Dusenbury at 8:10 p.m.
District Attorney Don Fink ruled the deaths a murder-suicide.
