Fantasy exit right!

POSTED: July 25, 2008

Vince Knauff what can I say about your most recent letter. How about this the conservatives went looking for WMD's and came out with cake.

The recent announcement that Canada was receiving 550 tons of commercial use, yellowcake uranium from Iraq. This can not be used for weapons that we would consider Mass Destruction. The facility that it was found at was in disrepair and lacking basic equipment.

It was reported to the U.N. after the Gulf War that it was there so it was not hidden from us. Bush and company spent all this money, sacrificed lives and brought more chaos to a region already highly agitated.

It should also be noted that an embargo that was put into place after the Gulf War and enforced by the Clinton Administration was in fact working. The money that was spent on this war and that we borrowed could have fixed our decaying infrastructure, funded a Federal health insurance program, and so much more.

Mr. Knauff wrote on-line that this was not to score political points. I disagree. The announcement was made and the Administration said it was kept a secret for security reasons. It was a know fact how can it be a secret. The only secret was the shipping of it to Canada. After the announcement the polls for the upcoming November elections for President shifted to the Republican candidate.

They say that timing is everything and a side note to Benjamin Butler this is what some would call a scheme.

One last thought, if President Bush had announced that the securing of this yellowcake uranium was important to keep from terrorist it would have been more convincing and less divisive.

He stated that they had weapons of mass destruction and this cost him credibility with his country and the world.
