Weather still an unknown for championship game

There are at least two big variables still up in the air for Sunday's Little League Baseball World Series Championship game - the teams and the weather.
According to the most recent National Weather Service forecast, Sunday will bring a 40-percent chance of rain and high in the low 80s.
Meteorologist Paul Gadhead said "how long the high (pressure system) holds over us and deflects anything to our west and what (Tropical Storm) Fay does" will determine Sunday's weather.
"Fay is going to become a player perhaps late in the weekend," he said. The tropical storm is moving north up Florida while an "upper level low" has been dumping rain on Texas and Oklahoma, Gadhead said.
"That's scheduled to come northeast near the Great Lakes. If that picks up Fay and brings that northeast," the second half of the weekend and early next week could be rainy.
If, however, the high holds, "the weather will remain good, probably warmer than it is now."
The high pressure system the area has been experiencing lately "is what creates the deep blue skies," Gadhead said.
Championship play is scheduled for 3:30 Sunday afternoon, which is after the sun will be at the highest point in the sky. Gadhead said if skies are hazy with sun peeking through, spectators could be sunburned.
According to Chris Downs, Little League media relations manager, there "is no contingency plan" in place if weather hampers the championship game.
"That'll be a game-time decision," he said.
