Child safety seat drive this week
Several area organizations are co-sponsoring a used child seat collection, 11. a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Williamsport K-mart, on the Golden Strip.
People turning in old, no longer used child seats will get a $5 K-Mart gift card, while the cards last.
Child seats should no longer be used when they are: involved in a serious crash, are more than 6 years old, on a recall list or if the manufacturer is no longer in business, have missing parts or have missing labels, model number or date of manufacture. The sponsoring organizations for the event are K-Mart, the state Department of Transportation Driver Safety Task Force, Safe Kids Lycoming County and the Community Traffic Safety Project.
