A cold front that is expected to arrive during the middle of the week will lower temperatures to a more normal fall feeling, according to John LaCorte, forecaster for the National Weather Service in State College.

Today's afternoon temperatures are expected to reach 80 degrees, but a cold front coming through Tuesday night or Wednesday could bring a few showers and will definitely bring some colder temperatures, LaCorte said.

Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 73 degrees, Thursday mostly cloudy with a low around 67 degrees and Friday mostly sunny with a high near 61 degrees.

LaCorte said this week may be the end of temperatures that will reach the 80s, but he admitted that, overall, it is hard to say and more warm weather still could be on the way.

"The last few days, we've been averaging 5 to 10 degrees above normal," LaCorte said.

The weekend is expected to bring sunshine with highs in the upper 50s for both Saturday and Sunday.
