An Old Lycoming Township man faces felony and misdemeanor charges for allegedly having inappropriate contact with a child after showing the boy pornographic pictures on a computer, according to township police.
Leon Dale Bodle, 40, of 2027 New Lawn Ave. was arrested Monday morning on charges of criminal solicitation for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault, corrupting the morals of a minor and disseminating obscene and sexual materials to a minor.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred at Bodle's home in June when he was babysitting a boy under 12, Det. Cpl. Chris Kriner said.
Bodle took the child to his bedroom and allegedly showed him pornographic material on his home computer, Kriner said in an affidavit.
Bodle then asked the boy if he would like to engage in sexual acts, Kriner alleges. The boy said "No," but Bodle then had inappropriate contact with him, the investigator alleged.
Investigators seized Bodle's home computer in July, suspecting that it contained images of child pornography, Kriner said.
However, investigators did not learn of Bodle's alleged actions involving the child until earlier this month when the county's Children and Youth Department was conducting an investigation.
As District Judge James H. Sortman read Bodle the charges during a court proceeding, Bodle said: "This is ridiculous."
Following his arraignment, Bodle was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
