Emily Kane is excited to be doing what she loves - taking pictures and giving people the gift of being able to relive an experience.

She opened Emily Kane Photography, a studio in Montoursville dedicated to capturing important moments in people's lives.

She has packages for weddings, babies and children, families and for high school seniors.

But Kane's specialties are wedding photos and taking photos of babies and children. "Capturing images of children that will last a lifetime is my favorite part of it," Kane says on her Web site.

Kane graduated in May from the Antonelli Art Institute in Philadelphia, where she received an associates degree in photography.

Kane has been photographing weddings for the past five years. "Taking photographs at weddings is what I love to do," Kane said.

She opened in October and said, as a beginning, she has been taking pictures of a lot of families. She said wedding photography usually picks up in the spring and summer.

Kane does not employ anyone, but she gets help from friends and family when it comes to the bookkeeping end of the business.

Right now Kane is having a special on her "Mommy and Me" package.

The cost is $99 and includes one half-hour maternity session, one half-hour mom-and-infant session and one half-hour baby session, with one eight by ten for each session.

Kane uses Canon equipment, mostly using a digital camera but said she can use a 35mm if customers prefer.

In the future, Kane said she is hoping to offer more packages to customers. She said she is also going to have set studio hours for people.
