Mr. and Mrs. Maurice R. Sholder Sr. will observed their 50th wedding anniversary March 7, 2009.
They were married by the Rev. Wallace Cummings at Newberry Methodist Church. Mrs. Sholder is a member of Oval United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Sholder, the former Shawanna Green, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Kathryn and Henry Green Sr. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1957 and retired from the former ABB, now Primus Technology, after 22 years old employment.
Mr. Sholder, a native of Williamsport, is the son of Vivian Dieffenderfer and the late Earl Sholder and stepson of the late Malcolm Wagner. He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1956 and retired from Anchor Darling-Valve after 40 years of employment.
They are the parents of two daughters, Tracey Stroble, Montoursville, and Kimberly Bryan, State College, and a son, Maurice Jr., South Williamsport. There are eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a family dinner is being planned.
