This summer's Ho-Made Days craft festival will be in Susquehanna State Park and not the traditional site in Brandon Park.
The city administration is moving the event to the river-side park and also scheduling it for July 10 and 11 in conjunction with the River Fest celebration
River Fest features boat races, water skiing shows, concerts, fireworks and other activities and help raise funds to offset the cost of operating Hiawatha riverboat, which is docked at the park during warm-weather months.
Planning for the joint events is being coordinated by the staffs of the YMCA and River Valley Transit's Hiawatha Inc. office.
Ho-Made Days applications are due Monday, according to a letter sent out to prospective vendors by Kate Tinney, customer service manager for Hiawatha Inc.
According to Mayor Gabriel J. Campana, the combined events will mean big crowds, but he promised parking will not be a problem because the state has given permission for grass-covered land to be used for the first time for an extra parking area.
He also said work related to the state's plans for replacing the Arch Street Bridge will not begin until the fall, leaving access in and out of the park in place.
