Girls on the Run accepting summer camp registration

Girls on the Run, a nonprofit program offered to girls in third through fifth grade, is accepting registrations for its summer camps.

The program is offered as a one-week summer camp from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.

Camps will be held at the following times and locations:

June 8 to 12 - Central Elementary School, South Williamsport, and Myers Elementary School, Muncy.

June 15 to 19 - Jersey Shore Area and Montgomery Area Elementary School.

June 22 to 26 - Ashkar Elementary School, Hughesville, and Avis Elementary School.

July 13 to 17 - Cochran Elementary School.

July 27 to 31 - Hepburn-Lycoming Elementary School.

Aug. 3 to 7 - Jackson and Stevens Elementary School.

Also, a Girls on Track camp, for girls in grades six through eight, will be held from June 15 to 19 in Muncy.

The camp curriculum is designed to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living with warm-ups and workouts that encourage the emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical health. Girls on the Run has touched the lives of more than 1,000 girls in Lycoming County since 2004.

The fee is $35 per girl, per week. Scholarships are available.
