McCoy, Orso top county judicial candidates in primary spending

Joy McCoy and Joe Orso were the biggest spenders in their bids to capture primary nominations for Lycoming County common pleas judge, according to state campaign finance records.
McCoy spent $112,956.51 between Jan. 1 and June 8, while Orso spent $77,303 during the same period.
McCoy captured one of two nominations, along with Marc Lovecchio.
Orso and Scott T. Williams both lost in the May primary.
Lovecchio spent $46,634 during the campaign.
The most recent campaign reporting figures were not available for Williams, who spent $21,519 between January and May 19, the date of the primary.
McCoy gathered $48,065, in contributions.
In addition, personal loans from herself to her campaign were made for $19,860 and $25,000. An additional loan of $3,000 to her campaign came from Edward and Joy McCoy.
Her campaign showed a debt of $47,860.48.
Orso received $81,195 in contributions.
It included his own separate donations of $50,000 and $20,000 to his campaign.
His campaign showed a debt of $10,363.
Lovecchio grabbed $48,877 in contributions. His campaign was $4,191 in debt.
Williams received $31,755 in contributions.
The single biggest contribution, amounting to $10,000, came from Scott T. and Susan K. Williams.
He had $10,000 in unpaid debts.
The biggest contributors to McCoy's campaign were: T. Max Hall, Williamsport, $500, and John and Jayne Reynolds, Montoursville, $300.
People or organizations contributing $250 to her campaign were: Clifford Rieders, Williamsport; Stephen Sleboda, Trout Run; Roberts, Micelli, Boileau & Doutt LPP, Lock Haven; David J. and Maggie R.
