Sojourners take 4-day tour of Pine Creek Gorge and Wellsboro
The Greenway Sojourn Bicycle Tour on July 23 kicks off a four-day tour of the Pine Creek Gorge and Wellsboro.
About 250 riders will arrive in Wellsboro on July 24 after spending the night on the trail. They'll take a scenic train ride aboard Tioga Central Railroad, after which the train will bring the riders and their bikes to Wellsboro's Train Depot on Charleston Street for a welcoming reception.
The Sojourn riders will spend Friday afternoon and evening exploring the many shops and restaurants Wellsboro offers before departing for their return trip on Saturday morning.
The Greenway Sojourn celebrates newly opened trails and promotes the completion of others to create regional trail systems.
Through this multi-day bicycle ride on mostly off-road, multi-use trails, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy brings together trail enthusiasts from more than 30 states to enjoy the benefits of rail trails and the communities that support them.
