A PennDOT bridge crew in Northumberland County will begin the rehabilitation of a state-owned bridge on Turbot Avenue in Delaware Township this week.
The detour will go into effect starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, following True Blue Road, Route 405 and Main Street.
The bridge crew will remove the deck and beams, repair the abutments and wing walls, install new concrete beams, place waterproofing and a new blacktop wearing surface.
The project is expected to take up to six weeks to complete.
Stony Fork Road bridge
also up for renovations
A $587,658 bridge rehabilitation project on Stony Fork Road in Delmar Township will begin on Monday.
A detour will be implemented using Stony Fork Road and School Road.
The contractor will remove and replace the deck on the bridge over Stony Fork Creek just northeast of Draper. Additional work includes concrete repairs, painting, curbing, parapets, new guide rail and blacktop.
The detour is expected to be in effect through October.
State offers update
on Route 220 project
CLEARFIELD - Penn- DOT issues the following travel update for the Route 220 projects in Clinton County.
At the Salona interchange to Mill Hall interchange, traffic remains restricted to the north and southbound passing lanes until midday on Monday. The traffic pattern will then be changed to restrict traffic to the northbound and southbound travel lanes.
The contractor will be removing metal median barrier and placing tack on the passing lanes to prepare for paving. Paving is scheduled to begin on Monday.
At the Mill Hall interchange to the McElhatten interchange, southbound traffic remains restricted to the northbound passing lane. Northbound traffic remains restricted to the northbound travel lane. Northbound and southbound traffic is separated by concrete barrier.
The southbound Lock Haven exit remains in operation using temporary crossovers at the interchange.
The contractor will be will be performing work in the closed southbound lanes. The work will include sawing for concrete pavement patching, removing guide rail at bridges and ramp areas, excavating ramp areas to lengthen acceleration and deceleration lanes, overhead sign and electrical upgrades and removing existing expansion dams from the six existing structures. The contractor will also continue sub-structure repairs on six structures within the area.
In the overall project, a 12-foot lane-width restrictions remain in effect.
Speed limit in the work zones is posted at 40 miles per hour when workers are present and 50 miles per hour when workers are not present.
