Earl S. Boudman, 90, of Orangeville, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009, peacefully at home with his daughter by his side.
He was born January 24, 1919, in Unityville, a son of the late Verus Edward and Lola Olive Steinruck Boudeman.
He graduated from Lore School in 1934 and worked on the family farm until he was fourteen and as a logger for several years for Jesse Woodside. He was drafted at age twenty-two, where he served in WWII in the European Theater in the 3rd Armored Brigade attached to the First Army. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He worked at Robbins Planning Mill, Millville and Art Hunsinger Construction and retired from Stanley Lore Construction. He is a member of the Millville American Legion and the Benton VFW. He attended the Jonestown Church.
He enjoyed spending time with the guys at Dale Stackhouse's Garage and in the past few years' lunches out with Dale. He enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers in his garden. He enjoyed making pies and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his wife Leona A. Woodside Boudman who passed away in 2004 and granddaughter Kimmie Lea Fisher and a grandson Travis Ryan Boudman and three brothers Kermit, Orton and Rollie Boudeman and four sisters Selma Fiester, Grace Fenstemacher, Marcella Glidewell and Martha Worthington.
He is survived by a daughter Sherry C. and her husband David Stoker of Orangeville and a son Tony R. Boudman and his wife Roxanne of Hughesville and four grandchildren Sheri and her husband Scott Lindsey of Watsontown, Brenda and her husband Tony Sponenberg of Orangeville, Torre Boudman and his wife Kelli of Stillwater and Risa and her husband Robert Rosario of Muncy and fourteen great grandchildren Joshua, Kimberley and Malinda Lindsey, Amanda, David and Dustin Nevel, Kara and Ashleigh Boudman, Haley, Adam and Rebekah Rosario, Brandon, Joshua and Nichole Sponenberg and three great great grandchildren Damion, Cameron and Blake Sponenberg and a brother Ervin Boudeman of Unityville.
Services will be Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville with the Rev. Darwin Goshorn officiating. Burial will be at Elan Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
