Doctor joins Children's Development center
Dr. Richard Dowell has been appointed as clinical director of the Children's Development Center. He begins Oct. 5.
As such, Dowell will oversee and coordinate efforts provided by the organization's preschool and autism classrooms as well as speech, occupational and physical therapists in meeting the needs of children.
In addition, he will complete neuropsychological evaluations for children and adolescents with a variety of symptoms and problems including features of attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and pervasive developmental disabilities.
Dowell received his bachelor's degree in psychology and biology from Dickinson College in 1979, his master's degree in psychology from The College of William and Mary in 1982, and his doctoral degree in clinical neuropsychology from the University of Houston in 1986.
From 1987 to 2004, he was a clinical neuropsychologist with Susquehanna Health System, and since 2005 has been employed within Neuropsychological Services at Evangelical Community Hospital.

Registered nurse to join local dermatologist
Patricia Braunegg, a certified registered nurse practitioner, has joined the staff of Dr. Vincent P. Herbst.
She will specialize in treating diseases of the skin including acne, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, skin cancers and preskin cancers.
