Speakers to address health care reform and Medicare

"Proposed Medicare Reforms: The Nitty-Gritty Made Clear," a program focusing on the Medicare portion of health care reform, is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Covenant United Church of Christ, 202 E. Third St.
Sponsored by Pennsylvanians for Health Care Reform (PAHCR), a local volunteer, non-profit group, the program will focus on the Medicare concerns of senior citizens, their families and caretakers.
Speakers will be Janet Witt of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare (NCPSSM); Marc Stier, Pennsylvania regional director of Health Care for America Now (HCAN); and the Rev. J. Jeffrey Zetto, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church in Montoursville and chairman of the United Churches of Lycoming County Social Justice Committee.
Witt and Stier will consider the Medicare issue and health care reform from various perspectives, including the legislative process.
Zetto will talk about the moral and religious imperatives reform raises.
The program is free and registration is not required.
