Steven R. Parker, 55, of 363 Meadow View Drive, Montoursville passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at the Williamsport Hospital.

He was born Dec. 10, 1953 in Carlsbad, N.M., a son of William and Elaine Taylor Parker.

Steven was an Assistant Physics Professor at Penn College, a Master Trainer in Homeland Security, did consulting work with the EPA and enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by his father of Tucson, Ariz.; his wife, the former Barbara P. Sweeney, with whom he celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on Feb. 14th; four sons, Steven R. Parker and Daniel J. (Marjorie) Parker both of Mesa, Ariz., Robert J. Leslie of Florence, Ariz., and David J. (Janelle) Leslie of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Sarah E. Leslie of Montoursville; five brothers, Larry and Douglas Frey of Amarillo, Texas, William, Jeffrey and Jason Parker of Ariz.; two sisters, Tammy and Brenda Parker of Ariz.; and seven grandchildren, three of which he was raising, Courtney, Alisha and Brandon Leslie.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon from noon to 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a trust fund for his grandchildren, c/o Susquehanna Bank, 950 Broad Street, Montoursville, PA 17745.
