BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Greer Wright scored 16 points and Binghamton defeated Bucknell 64-60 on Friday night.
Wright, the Bearcats' leading scorer at 12.1 points per game, was 8 of 12 from the free throw line.
Binghamton (3-5) led 27-13 at halftime after holding the Bison (4-5) to 24 percent shooting in the first half (6 of 25).
Penn College's Joe Simon made a 3-pointer with 4 seconds remaining as the Wildcats overcame a 15-point second-half deficit and won their PSU-AC opener, 84-82, over PSU-DuBois. Simon (23), Greg Solyak (27) and Leroy Joiner (21) combined for 71 points.
In women's basketball, the Lock Haven women's basketball team fell to visiting Wilmington, 74-71. Senior Casi Donelan scored a team-high 14 points to lead three players in double figures for Lock Haven (3-3).
Kristen Kudrick and Kacie Hershey both netted 10 points for the Lady Eagles.
Jessica Strasser scored 14 points and pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds as Penn College topped PSU-Dubois, 67-57.
In college swimming, Lock Haven broke two school records at the James E. Longnecker Invitational at Grove City College.
The first record to fall came in the 200 freestyle. Brittany Rehrig, Jersey Shore graduate Jenna Brooks, Samantha Durham and Amanda Terray finished in 1 minute, 38.95 seconds, which placed them second.
The quartet then combined to break a school record in the 400 medley relay in a time of 3:59.83.
