Muncy's girls basketball team overcame a 20-5 foul-shooting discrepancy and held off a late Bloomsburg comeback Friday night as it edged the Panthers, 40-39 and defeated them for the second time this year. Courtney Ebner scored 15 points and added seven rebounds while Jaylan Jones had five points and four assists.
Kelsey Lynch grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and Casey Drick scored 14 points as Montgomery thumped Millville, 38-18 and improved to 12-5.
St. John Neumann rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit and defeated Benton, 63-50. Katie Lisi led the Knights with 27 points.
Chelsea Boyer led Lewisburg with 8 points in a 41-25 win over Hughesville
In boys basketball, Elkland hit nine 3-pointers and defeated North Penn, 57-50. Luc Kocher had 22 points, including four 3-pointers for the Rams.
Mansfield's Jamie Hill came off the bench and scored a career-high 16 points and added nine rebounds to lead the Tigers to a 62-36 win over Williamson.
Cowanesque Valley's Aaron Keane had 24 points and Nic Simonetti added 16 as the Indians defeated Liberty, 77-41.
Selinsgrove outscored Montoursville by 10 points in the fourth quarter and edged the Warriors, 59-50. Kyle Kepner (13) and Ryan Hocker (12) combined for 25 points for Montoursville.
Scott Zuback scord 17 points and Harley Sellinger had 14 as Central Mountain beat Bald Eagle Area, 67-56.
Dan Fuller scored 6 3-pointers in his 29 points as Wellsboro beat Galeton, 76-36.
Brock Mullen scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds but it wasn't enough as Millville topped Sullivan County, 50-27.
In girls swimming, Williamsport's Kirby Bittner won the 1M-diving and the Millionaires defeated Towanda, 98-47.
In boys swimming, Williamsport remained perfect on the seasonw ith a 98-40 win over Towanda.
In wrestling, Seniors Adam Lynch and David Erwin notched No. 13 Penn State's only wins in a 29-6 loss at No. 1 Iowa. Lynch, from Mifflinburg, upset No. 5-ranked Montel Marion, 8-6 in sudden victory after taking control of Marion's shoulders.
