Mary Lou Beiter, age 70, of 208 Grampian Boulevard, Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at her home. Her final days were spent surrounded by loving family and friends.
Born in Williamsport on Feb. 26, 1940, she was the daughter of Pasquale and Florence Esposito Ciccarelli. She graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1958.
Mary Lou was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She devoted her life to her family. Mary Lou always had a smile on her face and a heart overflowing with love. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church. She volunteered her time at St. Boniface Church and St. John Neumann Regional Academy. She was an active member of the Sons of Italy Lodge #138, the Newberry Lioness Club, the American Business Women's Association, the Divine Providence Auxiliary and in her younger years, the Cub Scouts.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Paul H. Beiter, of 49 years, and her three sons: Paul C. and his wife, Christina; Michael P. and his wife, Lori; Joseph E. and his wife, Theresa, all of Williamsport; and a daughter, Kathryn M. Bahr, and her husband, Pete, of Montoursville; fourteen grandchildren: Eric, Carinne, Adam, Pavlo, Dimitra, Katie, Noah, Sophia, Micah, Isaac, Jenna, Nicholas, Sarina, Evan, and great-granddaughter, Richai Joelle; her brother, Eugene Ciccarelli, and sisters, Josephine Jolin and Antoinetta Mancini. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, William, James, Michael and James F.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport. Msgr. Stephen McGough, her pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 15 at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 East Third St., Williamsport.
The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to the Paul and Mary Lou Beiter Endowment Fund of St. John Neumann Regional Academy. The Fund will provide tuition assistance to those desiring a Catholic Education at St, John Neumann Regional Academy.
