A new tractor supply store has come to the Mansfield area and promises to offer a wide selection for many in the area. Tractor Supply Company opened its doors March 13.
"It is a need that needed to be filled. People are certainly happy that we are here and we are happy to be here," said Donnie Plouse, store general manager.
The store offers gardening supplies all the way to three-point equipment, horse feed, cattle feed and even clothes, according to Plouse.
The 19,000-square-foot facility employs 19 employees and has a sales floor and support service space. A fenced exterior space offers a display area for items such as fencing, sprayers and livestock equipment.
The store will have an open house Saturday and Sunday, with a chicken barbecue on Saturday.
"On March 27, we will have our grand opening. There will be a chicken barbecue that will also be selling hot dogs and hamburgers. Caitie Worden and Bryce Whetherbee will be trying to raise money to fund their trip to the Youth World Finals in barrel racing in Jackson, Mississippi. They are members of the National Barrel Horse Association," Plouse said.
There will also be deals on products as well as giveaways.
"There will be 10 percent off of the first purchase and some exceptions may apply. We also have several events planned. There will be barrel racing, the dairy queen will also be here," Plouse said. "We will be giving away $250 gift cards, $150 worth of clothing, $150 worth of power tools and $150 worth of feed, which includes pet food, animal feed or bird feed."
The drawing will be on Sunday at 3 p.m., according to Plouse.
The 4-H Club will also be at the open house.
"We will also have a local 4-H club on site with horses and other animals to teach people how to properly bridal and groom horses and to answer questions," Plouse said.
