There will be a new stretch of the Susquehanna River Walk soon added.
Next year an additional one-and-a-half miles of river walk will be open on the South Williamsport side of the river bringing the total length of the walkway in the city and borough to six miles.
According to county planners the borough has about $400,000 in grant funding for the work, which - like the rest of the river walk in the city and borough - comes from a mix of state and federal sources.
According to South Williamsport Councilman Ben Landon, the addition will link the existing river walk to the borough's recreation complex.
