Children grow out of clothing so quickly. Keeping them clothed is an expensive endeavor.
Cheryl Russel recognized a need for a children's consignment shop in the Muncy area and opened her shop, They Keep On Growing, at 40 S. Main St. in Muncy.
"I talked to a lady who had a consignment shop in Dallas," Russell said. "We take children's clothes up to girls size 16 and boys 18, shoes, baby's items and accessories."
The shop accepts all brands as long as they are in good condition, freshly laundered, wrinkle-free and ready to go, according to Russell.
"It is a 50-50 split. What a person would do is, now we are taking fall and winter items and a person would bring their items in (including hangers to hang them). We enter it into the computer and once it sells they get 50 percent of the sale, receive a check once a month and an inventory list of what is left of their inventory," Russell said.
Monday to Saturday are drop-off days and Russell prefers appointments be set up.
