Mansfield women fall to Shepherd

Erika Moyer scored her third goal of the season to give Mansfield an early lead but it didn't hold in a 2-1 loss to Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon.

Junior Kaitlyn McBride put the ball over the defender and Moyer got behind the goalie and scored in the 15th minute to give Mansfield a 1-0 lead.

Twelve minutes later, Shepherd (1-2) tied the game on a unassisted goal from Brianna Hines.

Tied at 1-1 at halftime, Hines would scored again on a breakaway after taking a pass over the goalie from Rachael Dewberry in the 69th minute to score what would prove to be the winning goal.

Lycoming sophomore Leslie Kester scored a goal and added two assists to lift the Warriors to a 4-2 win over Lancaster Bible.

Lock Haven fell to No. 12 West Chester, 2-0.

In men's soccer, Lock Haven opened PSAC-West play by shutting out No. 7 West Chester, 1-0. Martin Pletz scored the game-winning goal in the 20th minute off a corner a kick.

Tristan Smith scored twice and Nick Grasso added a goal as Penn College defeated Davis College, 3-1 and earned its first win this season.

In college field hockey, Lock Haven earned his first win of the season, defeating Saint Francis, 4-0.

Amy Hordendorf scored a pair of goals for the Lady Eagles.

In girls soccer, St. John Neumann's Amy Southard scored twice to lift the Knights past Montgomery, 5-3.

Asia Ungard and Allie Pagana scored as Loyalsock blanked Jersey Shore, 2-0.

Warrior Run and Central Columbia settled for a 0-0 tie. Warrior Run had 20 shots on goal to Central Columbia's 11.

Goals by Alyssa House, Jamie Steer and Christina McFadden led South Williamsport to a 3-1 victory over Bloomsburg.

Montoursville received goals from five different players as it defeated Midd-West, 5-1.

A late goal by Olivia Mendler of Williamsport helped force overtime and a 2-2 tie with Shikellamy.

Dana Shearer scored three goals and led Hughesville to a 8-2 rout of Shamokin.

Lauren Martin banked in a Kelsey Harer assist to give Liberty a 1-0 over Williamson.

Central Mountain's Jordan Courter broke a 1-all tie in the second half to lift the Wildcats past Philipsburg-Osceola, 2-1.

In girls tennis, Montgomery won two of the three singles matches and defeated Lewisburg, 3-2.

In field hockey, Muncy dropped its second game in two nights, falling to Bloomsburg, 7-1.

In volleyball, Cowanesque Valley lost to Austin in three sets 20-25, 25-23 and 24-26.
