Kate MacKenzie and Thomas Forster, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010.

Peter Riggs officiated at the ceremony held in the courtyard of the Pajama Factory.

A rehearsal dinner was held at the Peter Herdic House and a reception was held at the Public Art Academy at the Pajama Factory.

The bride is the daughter of Christine MacKenzie Kelly, Williamsport, and the late Paul MacKenzie. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School. She received a bachelor's degree in nutritional sciences from Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., and a master's degree in public health from Columbia University, New York City. She is employed by City Harvest, New York City, as a director of policy and government relations, and also at Columbia University as an adjunct professor.

Forster is the son of Nancy Forster, Tiburon, Calif., and the late Clifton Forster. He graduated from Andover Academy, Andover, Mass. He received a bachelor's degree in philosophy of religion and a master's degree in landscape planning and architecture from the University of Oregon, Eugene, Ore. He is employed as a domestic and international consultant on food policy issues and also by New School, New York City, as a professor.

Maid of honor was Annah MacKenzie, Ann Arbor, Mich., sister of the bride.

Best man was Douglas Forster, New York City, brother of the bridegroom.

Following a trip to Rome, Tuscany and the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, the couple is residing in Brooklyn.
