LCUW campaign chairman weighs in

December 11, 2010
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Prior to and during my tenure at Hope Enterprises, Inc., I have had the utmost respect for the consistent support Lycoming County United Way has provided for the human service network of our county. But, that admiration from afar has been brought into a much clearer focus during my current responsibilities as chairman of this year's United Way campaign.

Each day when I come to work I see firsthand the positive impact United Way contributions have upon the lives of those we serve here at Hope. Similar to the "Face stories" you read about in this space each week, the faces I see daily give first person testament to the importance of the United Way campaign and the positive results achieved.

Hope Enterprises is but one of 44 human service programs receiving United Way support. They all have their own stories to tell, like the following told to us by Dave Fagerstrom, president and CEO of River Valley Regional YMCA.

Jim Campbell

President, Hope Enterprises Inc.

Chairman, Lycoming County United Way campaign
