HUGHESVILLE - East Lycoming School Board took care of a number of personnel matters Wednesday night, including approval of several retirements.
Superintendent Dr. Susan Bigger said it was with sadness that the retiring teachers and aides were leaving after many years of service to the district.
The retirement resignations were accepted by the board for high school science biology teacher Beth Ann Myers and high school aides Carol McCarty and Kathryn Shaner. Myers served in the district for 33 years. McCarty and Shaner each served 15 years.
The resignations are effective at the end of the 2010-11 school year.
The board granted child bearing and family/medical leave for Amy Ruth-Swart from Feb. 17 to May 23, 2011.
Susan Carroll was hired as Odyssey of the Mind adviser at a stipend of $1,311.
Nathan Kimble, of Montoursville, and Terry Nickles, of Muncy, were added to the guest teacher list.
Anne Brovey was introduced to the board as the interim principal at Ashkar Elementary School. Brovey retired three years ago as principal of Loyalsock Valley Elementary School in the Montoursville Area School District.
She also was employed by Shikellamy School District as a teacher.
