The Christian problem?

December 26, 2010
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Response to the demeaning reference to Christians in the letter The Situation from Dec. 18.

Why do secular progressives include everyone under their caring banner of inclusiveness except for Christians? Hopefully, the omission of the other religions was out of respect for their members, and not just typical secular progressive, political correctness.

Since secular progressives like to use science to categorize Christians as superstitious, let's examine some scientific facts concerning the beliefs of Christians. The confirmation of the theory of relativity proved conclusively the universe had a beginning, and therefore was created from nothing by a causal agent beyond the dimension of time. The theological implications have so concerned scientists that some have proposed an unprovable multiple universe theory. The multiple universe theory, however, does not eliminate the theological implications because the origin of the multiple universes would require a cause beyond the dimension of time.

The Bible is the only holy book that describes creation from nothing and also makes other references to the creation throughout that have been confirmed by science. The secular progressive religion of evolution requires the existence of matter to begin the origin of life process. Even if matter existed for infinite time, it requires real faith to believe matter was able to miraculously acquire intelligence, come alive, and evolve into human beings.

All of us, left or right, those who believe or don't believe in God are insignificant. It is ridiculous to think such insignificant creatures could cause global warming. At this special time of the year, I will take my chances worshiping the God that faith and science tells me exists, not a secular progressive religion that provides no answers.
