New president and CEO to lead area credit union

Horizon Federal Credit Union's Board of Directors has selected Traci A. Donahue to serve as the credit union's president and CEO.

Donahue succeeds John Sharp, who will retire May 31, 2011 after leading the credit union for 27 years. Donahue will start her new role at Horizon Federal Credit Union June 1, 2011.

Donahue has 17 years experience in the financial industry including roles ranging from member service representative to operation manager. Donahue has been with Horizon Federal Credit Union since 1998. She graduated from Montgomery Area High School, attended Lycoming College, Penn State Judge/Bradley graduate, attended CUNA Financial Management and has taken Penn State continuing educations programs in lending, compliance, community outreach, and human resources. Donahue also serves as vice president on the board of the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of Pennsylvania Credit Unions.

In her new role, Donahue will oversee the overall strategic direction of the credit union. Donahue stated, "I am honored to have been chosen to lead the credit union and continue service to the membership."

Horizon Federal Credit Union has about 10,000 members, serving its members since 1955 with locations at 1007 East Third Street and 2875 Reach Road, Williamsport and 217 W. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven. In addition, Horizon Federal Credit Union extended its charter to serve anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Lycoming and Clinton counties.
