LEWISBURG - Evangelical Community Hospital has scheduled AARP Driver Safety and Driver Safety Refresher programs during the month of May.
These courses are classroom- only driver safety programs for drivers 50 years of age and older.
The eight-hour AARP Driver Safety Program will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. May 19 and 20 at the Community Health Education Center, next to Staples along Route 15.
The four-hour AARP Driver Safety Refresher Program is for previous eight-hour Driver Safety Program participants and will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. May 11 at the Community Health Education Center.
Since the rules of the road are constantly changing, AARP's Driver Safety and Driver Safety Refresher Programs will review current and new driving laws, defensive driving techniques and tips on how to safely operate a vehicle.
An automobile insurance discount may be available after completion of the Driver Safety Program.
Attendees are encouraged to verify this possible discount with their insurance agents.
Space is limited and registration is required for both programs. The fee is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.
