Mr., Mrs. Ronald A. Kaler observe 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald A. Kaler, Williamsport, will observe their 60th wedding anniversary May 31, 2011.

They were married by the Rev. Robert Roberts in the parsonage of the Nazarene Church, Bloomsburg. They are members of St. John-Newberry United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Kaler, the former Elvena D. Warr, is a native of Bloomsburg. She is the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Lucille Christopher Warr. She graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1950 and retired from Williamsport Area School District in 1994, where she was employed as a teacher's aide for 20 years.

Mr. Kaler, a native of Millville, is the son of the late Donald E. and Verona Fluman Kaler. He graduated from Millville High School in 1948 and received a bachelor's degree in education from Bloomsburg State Teachers College, now Bloomsburg University, in 1952. He received a master's degree in administration and supervision from Bucknell University, Lewisburg. He retired in 1988 from Williamsport Area School District, where he was employed from 1954 to 1988 as a math teacher for 36 years.

They are the parents of three daughters, Sondra Westbrook, Sinking Spring; Cynthia Delaney, Aiken, S.C.; and Pamela Strenge, Burnsville, Minn.; and one son, Ronald Jr., Williamsport. There are seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In honor of their anniversary, a family dinner and celebration, hosted by their children, will be held in August.
