It was offered by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) in Williamsport. This session reviewed the major issues and challenges faced by the accounting profession today. It covered the most recently issued official pronouncements, and provided an update on compilations, reviews, and recent FASB developments.

new vice president
William E. Wood, Chairman, President and CEO of Clearfield Bank and Trust Co. announced recently that, R. Daniel Eichinger, has been named vice president and trust officer for Clearfield Bank and Trust Co. A news release said he brings extensive experience in portfolio management, estate planning, personal and institutional trust administration.
He is a former graduate of Robert Morris University in marketing and math. He is a Vietnam veteran, having served in the Navy. Eichinger currently belongs to the Lycoming County Estate Planning Council, Planned Giving Council of Central PA, Geriatric Interest Networking and previously was a Director of Philanthropy for the North Central Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Eichinger makes his home in Williamsport and looks forward to serving his clients with the best possible service. He was formally with M&T Bank's private client services department located in Williamsport.

for 40-year mark
Joanne Marvin, deposit operations manager for First Citizens National Bank in Mansfield, was recognized for serving 40 years in the banking industry at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association meeting in April. The Pennsylvania Bankers Association is the state's major banking trade association.
Marvin began her career with First Citizens as a bookkeeper posting checks on a huge machine called a Postronic. The bank had just 2 branches at the time. As the bank grew, bookkeeping expanded into a full deposit operations department which Marvin has managed since 1982. In 1985, she was named Employee of the Year by the bank.

City man elected
to state council
Romey D. Fagnano, a certified public accountant from Williamsport, was elected to a three-year term on the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Council at its annual meeting, held this year in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. His term on the governing body will expire in 2013.
Fagnano is the finance director for the Lycoming Housing Authority in Williamsport. He is currently a member of the Relations with Schools and Colleges Committee for PICPA's North Central Chapter. Fagnano was also a past president of PICPA's North Central Chapter, and was a member of the Leadership Conference Planning Committee and the Chapter Operations Committee. Additionally, Fagnano is treasurer of the North Central Pennsylvania Conservancy.
Fagnano is a graduate of Lycoming College, and received his MBA from Baker College.
