Williamsport Crosscutters starter Leonel Bastidas allowed 7 runs in 1 2/3 innings and his team trailed by 12 at one point before a 6-run ninth inning made the score respectable in a 13-8 defeat Monday night at Auburn.
Relievers Jesus Pirela and Juary Gomez fared little better, allowing 2 runs in 1 1/3 innings and 4 in 3 innings, respectively.
Adrian Nieto led the Auburn offense, going 4-for-5 with 3 runs and 2 doubles.
The Cutters scored on a single and groundout in the sixth and a 2-run single by Luis Amaro led the ninth.
