Muncy to buy PC, housing office to buy apartments

Locally elected and appointed officials voted on the following matters in the past week:

Federal

The Senate and House voted on no major legislation during the week.

State

The Senate and House are out of session.

County

The Lycoming County commissioners agreed to collect school district real estate taxes for Jordan and Clinton townships. Voting "yes" on the measure were Commissioners Jeff C. Wheeland and Ernie Larson. Commissioner Rebecca A. Burke was absent.

The Lycoming County Housing Authority agreed to assume ownership of the Mary Slaughter apartments, 124 Brandon Place. Voting in favor of the agreement were Henry Frey Jr., George Giro, Dorothy Engel, Alfreda Baer and Kenneth Young.

The Williamsport Regional Airport Authority agreed to advertise for bids for construction of a taxiway and part of a general aviation apron. Voting "yes" on the measure were Mark Murawski, Chris Logue, Ryan Tyra and Ats Welker.

Municipal

Muncy Borough Council accepted the resignation of Elaine Hacker from the Shade Tree Commission. Voting in favor were council members Linda Stein, Elaine McAleer, Richard Baker and Galen Betzer. Council voted to purchase a computer at a cost not to exceed $700. Voting in favor were Stein, McAleer, Baker and Betzer.

Williamsport City Council agreed to award a $948,000 contract to Wolyniec Construction for the Phase I construction of the Pathway to Health project. Voting in favor of the measure were J. Marlyne Whaley, William J. Hall, Geralyn Fausnaught, Jonathan Williamson, Randall J. Allison and Elizabeth Miele. N. Clifford Smith was absent.
