Two people in a Toyota SUV were injured Tuesday afternoon when their vehicle was struck in the westbound lanes of Interstate 180, city police said.
Police said bed mattresses dropped from a pickup truck traveling in front of the Toyota, clogging the highway thoroughfare.
The rear of the Toyota apparently was struck at 1:20 p.m. just east of the Basin Street exit by another vehicle, a Chevrolet work truck.

The driver of the mattress-hauling Ford F-150 pickup stopped immediately on the highway and cooperated with the investigation.
Mattresses were strewn around the highway, and traffic was backed up at least four miles in the westbound lanes.
Police continue to probe for details, including identities of the people hurt in the Toyota.
